Fort Bend ISD Dedicates Donald Leonetti Elementary Oct. 22
Fort Bend ISD will dedicate Sienna Plantation’s newest on-site elementary school, Donald Leonetti Elementary, at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22.
The school is named after beloved resident and philanthropist Donald Leonetti, founder of Leonetti Graphics. Donald was known for his big heart, providing uniforms, T-shirts and signage to numerous local organizations, as well as contributing many hours and dollars to the advancement of local education.
After the ceremony, guests will be able to tour the new 123,079-square-foot campus, which serves young residents of the Village of Sawmill Lake and a portion of the Village of Shipman’s Landing.
Leonetti Elementary, 1757 Waters Lake Blvd., is one of the first schools in Texas to be funded by “green bonds” that support environmentally responsible construction. In addition to state-of-the-art classrooms, a gym, covered playground and science lab, the elementary school was designed to meet LEED standards for energy efficiency and has heat-reducing features such as light-colored building materials and green space.
Leonetti is Sienna Plantation’s seventh on-site school and its fourth on-site elementary. It will soon be joined by Thornton Middle School, which opens its doors in 2018
