• 90 percent of students pass the TAKS test

• In 2011, the school earned five T.E.A. “Gold Performance” Acknowledgements; commended in areas of Reading, Writing, Science and Math

• Two district-level 2011 Teacher of the Year finalists

• Principal was a statewide semi-finalist for the HEB 2011 “Excellence in Education” Award

• An active PTA:  in 2011, the group raised more than $130,000 for new technologies, playground equipment and other school needs

• Schiff’s Go Green Club helps students grasp the importance of preserving our natural resources in a fun, educational manner.  Club members maintain the school’s front garden, plant flowers and even work with local chefs to learn about the benefits of organic foods.

• Student Council members sing Christmas songs, present gifts to seniors, conduct campus clean-up efforts and organize fundraising campaigns for worthwhile causes. 

• Recognized for three consecutive years by the Anti-Defamation League for its participation in “No Place For Hate,” a program which encourages students to develop respect and understanding for their fellow students.

• Special programs include “Students of the Month,” assemblies, weekly prize giveaways and Destination Imagination, an extracurricular where parents serve as “team managers” to help students respond to instant creative thinking challenges.  Students then compete in a regional competition in February.
